Nauticam MID-RANGE FOCUS OPTIMIZER 1 (MFO-1)

Nauticam introduces its latest water-contact optic for underwater macro photography – the Mid-Range Focus Optimizer (MFO-1). Its primary function is to eliminate the focus distance limitation of macro lenses underwater, providing a generous focusing range for various subject sizes that were previously restricted when using SMC-1 or CMC lenses. At the same time, the MFO-1 enhances optical performance by reducing chromatic aberrations, delivering superior sharpness and clarity.

Enhanced Image Quality: The advanced optical design with 3 elements in 2 groups and multi-layer anti-reflective coating delivers outstanding sharpness, accurate color reproduction, and reduced distortion compared to flat ports.
No More Focus Hunting: The MFO-1 seamlessly adjusts your lens’s focusing range, eliminating focus hunting and enabling fast, accurate, and stable autofocus performance – even in low light or challenging underwater conditions.
Extended Working Distance: When paired with the Nikon AF-S VR Micro-NIKKOR 105mm f/2.8G IF-ED, the focusing range is extended to 12.5 cm – 114 cm. This provides photographers with maximum flexibility to capture tiny critters up close or larger subjects from further away.
Increased Magnification: Macro lovers benefit from enhanced detail. The MFO-1 boosts magnification up to 1.2× with the Nikon 105 mm and up to 1.6× with the Canon RF 100 mm f/2.8 – perfect for extreme close-ups of pygmy seahorses, shrimps and other small marine life.
