Sony’s first E-mount fisheye zoom lens opens up new ways of seeing the world by capturing entire rooms and using distortion as a creative tool. It covers everything in a single lens—from circular to diagonal fisheye full-frame shots—and offers comprehensive support for photos, videos, and VR content. It’s also compact and lightweight for both everyday and professional shooting.

Versatile Fisheye Expression

The extremely wide 180° angle of view captures dynamic spaces. The 8–14 mm zoom range extends from circular full-frame fisheye shots at 8 mm to full-frame diagonal fisheye shots at 14 mm. The ability to choose the ideal fisheye angle of view for your specific environment and creative needs opens up an extraordinary range of expressive possibilities.

Outstanding G Lens™ Optical Performance

ED (Extra-low Dispersion) elements and aspherical elements in an innovative optical design result in a compact, lightweight lens that delivers high resolution and minimal chromatic aberration across the entire image area. A minimum focus distance of 0.15 m with a maximum magnification of 0.22x enables dynamic close-ups with smooth background bokeh.

Fast, Precise AF and Intuitive MF

The linear motor focus drive ensures fast and precise autofocus and accurate tracking, while breathing compensation effectively minimizes lens breathing for smooth, professional-looking videos.

The linear motor drive system and circular aperture unit are also quiet, ensuring that the film’s audio isn’t compromised by lens noise or vibrations. The linear-response manual focus (MF) supports intuitive manual focusing when needed.

Compact, lightweight, and exceptionally versatile

The optimized design reduces the size to 63.1 x 82.8 mm (2-1/2 x 3-3/8 inches) and the weight to 314 g. This lens is the ideal complement to E-mount bodies, minimizing fatigue during long handheld shoots and improving mobility.

The internal zoom ensures ideal balance at every focal length. A rear filter mount is compatible with standard film filters.

Detailed zoom and focus control

A zoom lock switch allows you to quickly lock the zoom at one of three preset focal lengths for repeatable fisheye shots.

The focus mode switch makes it easy to select AF, MF, or FH (Focus Hold). With Focus Hold, the focus can be locked onto a point set in MF mode to prevent unintended changes. The aperture ring features an on/off click switch.

Production of Natural 3D VR Content

With a diameter of 63.1 mm, this lens is ideal for capturing natural 3D and VR content with dual cameras. The left and right lenses can be positioned approximately 64 mm apart. This corresponds to the normal human interpupillary distance for natural spatial reproduction and impressive depth.

The fisheye width enhances this striking effect.

Reliable in Challenging Outdoor Conditions

The dust- and moisture-resistant design ensures high reliability outdoors, where rain or airborne dust might otherwise pose a problem. The fluorine coating on the front lens element prevents contaminants from adhering to the lens surface and makes cleaning easier.

Recycled Materials in Sony Lenses

As part of the Road to Zero initiative, over 36% of the total plastic weight of this product consists of recycled plastic. At the component level, the proportion of recycled material reflects performance requirements: Over 15% of the plastic in the lens barrel consists of recycled plastic, and over 79% in the lens caps.

Plastic-Free Packaging Materials

As part of the Road to Zero initiative, we are transitioning to plastic-free packaging materials. For product pouches, we use a plant-based nonwoven fabric.
