Super Compact Powerful Underwater Strobe with Olympus RC-TTL System

The latest model of the Q1 strobe now comes with TTL and RC functionality! This sought-after, ultra-compact strobe model is now truly indispensable. It features a guide number of 22 and a beam angle of 85°.

Additionally, this UCS-Q1 RC strobe model is easy to use with two buttons and a rotary switch. One button for power on/off and light adjustment, and a test button. With the rotary switch, you select the mode: RC, i-M, or Manual.

If you set the strobe manually, it’s easy to achieve the desired brightness when using it with an automatic compact camera. Simply adjust the strobe's brightness to match the camera's exposure. The strobe has a very usable beam angle of 85 degrees with the diffuser attached.

The RC function allows you to use the TTL feature with selected Olympus cameras in selected underwater housings. The i-M mode is intended for macro photography. You must also use this mode when using a snoot.

With the left button, you activate the continuous light function, which has three power levels. The various power levels can be accessed by pressing the button. The highest setting is 700 lumens, bright enough for macro photography or even as an underwater flashlight. The continuous light also functions as a focus light, enabling quicker focusing and determining the desired strobe position. The buttons and controls are clearly labeled and easy to operate even with gloves on.

The battery compartment is secured with a screw cap sealed with two O-rings to prevent accidental flooding. If the battery compartment floods, it has no effect on the electronics compartment, as the two sections are separated. The strobe is powered by two 18650 lithium batteries (not included), enabling up to 1500 flashes on a single charge while maintaining consistent output even at low power. The strobe features a standby function (after 15 minutes) and automatic shutdown (after 2 hours) to save power and extend the strobe's lifespan.

Operation

The UCS-Q1 RC strobe is easy to operate with two buttons and a rotary switch:

• Button for power on/off and light adjustment.
• Test button to check the strobe function.
• Rotary switch to select the mode: RC, i-M, or Manual.

Modes and Functions

• Manual mode: Simply set the desired brightness to match the camera exposure.

Continuous Light
